Welcome to my ePortfolio!

Welcome to my ePortfolio! I am a 2026 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree. I am passionate about children’s librarianship, early literacy, and public libraries.

Throughout my MLIS program, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience in library services, collection development, youth programming, and early childhood literacy. These experiences have strengthened my desire to pursue a career as a children’s librarian in a public library.

My dream is to foster a love of reading and lifelong learning among young library patrons. I hope to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where children can explore, discover, and develop a lifelong appreciation for books and libraries.

This ePortfolio highlights selected projects and assignments that demonstrate the knowledge and skills I have developed throughout my graduate studies.

My Professional Philosophy

I believe that every child deserves access to a welcoming and inclusive library environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of reading. As a children’s librarian, I hope to support early literacy development through engaging programs, diverse collections, and meaningful connections with children and their families. I also believe that libraries should serve as accessible community spaces where children of all backgrounds feel valued, supported, and inspired to become lifelong learners.
